Style Spotlight: Winter 2026

By Brent Williams • Mar 21, 2026 2:48 AM

The end of winter quarter feels like a special time on campus as everyday a few more precious minutes of light are added to the day. The dark clouds slowly drift away and in their place we are granted a moment of sunshine. As the cold and dark winter quarter came to a close, the Wavelength staff took to Red Square to see what students were wearing, and I found that the turning of the weather was reflected in students' style for this winter installment of Style Spotlight. During the first day, it was overcast and gloomy, and the day felt slow and glum. The start of the second day felt almost similar but over the course of the day the sun began to peek out and, over time, as I stood in Red Square, I got to see the puddles shrink away and students began to gather simply for the sake of community and good weather.

From fun graphic tees to cozy sweaters, it was fun to see how everyone’s choices of each day culminated to create the image of the people we see. My favorite part of Style Spotlight is getting to see all the little glimpses of self-expression. Taking a close look at the photos might allow you to catch an idea of the choices that students make to showcase who they are, and I love that.

A special thank you to everyone who came out and had their picture taken, and to all of the Wavelength staff who helped this Style Spotlight come to fruition!
